Diamond

Mother Earth has gifted us

a precious fragment of her splendor,

within which lies a quiet sense of mystery.

Like the brilliance of the setting sun,

or the infinite patterns traced

across the surface of the ocean,

the essence of a diamond is impossible to fully capture.

In this way, each diamond mirrors its wearer.

Completely unique. One of a kind.

Each diamond is carefully selected in India,

then brought to our studio

and transformed into jewelry.

A quiet connection between you and nature.

about diamond

At atelier plow, we use rose-cut diamonds for our engagement rings.

The rose cut is an antique cutting technique that emerged around the 16th century. Its surface, covered in triangular facets, resembles a rosebud — which is how it earned its name. In an age before electric light, people lived by candlelight and by the daylight that fell through their windows. The rose cut was born to shine beautifully in exactly that kind of soft light.

Rather than reflecting light sharply like a modern brilliant cut, it holds a calm glow that seems to seep quietly from within the stone.

Like a drop of water resting on a leaf, catching the light and glimmering, a rose-cut diamond does not so much return light as seem to hold it inside.

We feel this gentle light suits an engagement ring given at a turning point in life. On clear days and rainy ones alike, the diamond shifts its expression with the light of the day, staying quietly beside the time about to begin.

Each diamond carries its own inclusions and coloring, born in nature. We honor that individuality: our designer selects each stone at a polishing workshop in India and shapes it, one by one, into jewelry.
